Built in 1959 to serve as a home for Valparaiso University President Dr. O.P. Kretzmann, Linwood House was designed by architect Charles E. Stade, who embraced the Prairie-style aesthetic made popular by Frank Lloyd Wright and the Modernist principles of Le Corbusier to create the so-called “Valpo style” on display in buildings throughout the campus.
Today, Indiana Landmarks is rehabilitating the Linwood House as part of a lease agreement with the university to use the house as a base for our preservation work in the northwest part of the state. Donate to support preserving this important landmark.
